Characters The three main characters are Connor, Vanessa and Tony. In Ellen hopkins books you enter all of her main characters heads, you know exactly what each of them are thinking. You see all of the characterss thoughts instead of only having one main character.


Connors parents never let him be himself. His parents made him be what they want, not what he wants. The only thing connors parents cared about was him having a high GPA, making the varsity football team, getting into an ivy league college and ultimatly being like his older sister. Connor can't find love from his family so he looks for it else where and when he finds it and it ends, connor feels like life is pointless and trys to end his.

Tony is stuck in a juvenille home for a crime he is still bothered by. Tony doesnt know how to deal with himself. He's confused about his sexuality. He's lonely and sad, Tony decides to swallow a bunch of pills to end his misery. He ends up throwing them all up and is sent to a psychiatric home to deal with himself. He meets Tony and Vanessa and starts to change.

Vanessa feels her life is too stressfull, and the only way to relax herself is to cut. One day when she is trying to escape the sadness she cuts to deep and almost loses her life. Her little brother finds her and calls in their grandmother an ex nurse who saves vanessas life. Vanessa is sent also sent to Aspen Springs where she finds love in an unusual place.
