Impulse is about three teens: Connor, Tony and Vanessa. There three different teens with their own problems in life. Connors parents expect him to be the perfect child just like his older sister. They only care about him doing well in school and being involved with his school. Connor falls in love and it ends badly. Connor feels like their is no point to living anymore and attemps suicide and fails, he is sent too Aspen Springs a psychiatric hospital for teens. Tony was sent to a juvenile home for committing a crime he regrets and is still haunted by. He has a bad family past and doesnt know how to deal with his sexuality. Tony feels the only way out of his troubles is swallowing a handfull of pills, but he takes the wrong ones and is sent to Aspen Springs. Vanessa has a problem with cutting. Everytime she becomes sad the only way she can think of to get out of it is to cut herself. One day she cuts to deep and almost loses her life. She is sent to Aspen Springs.

At Aspen Springs the three teenagers become closer and try to fix up their lives. They all form a deep friendship and when the three are chosen for the last test to get them out of Aspen Springs, the wilderness test,something goes horribly wrong.
